You should turn down the heat a little. :)

I watched it for the first time last month.
Hayao Miyazaki is a genius.

He really is. Have you had a chance to watch some of his other works?

Yeah I've been plowing through them over the last few months. I've only got a few left now.

I just love all of Miyazaki's films.

Same here. I watched Up om Poppy Hill a few weeks back. Great film.

I've yet to watch that one. I've been meaning to.

Which ones are left on your list?

It's worth a download, or stream, or other, err, legitimate way you can watch it.

The Castle of Cagliostro, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service and Ponyo.

Are you watching in English? If so, then my recommendation is to watch in this order.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Ponyo
Kiki's Delivery Service
Castle in the Sky
The Castle of Cagliostro

I'm watching them in Japanese with subtitles, since I intend to start studying Japanese soon-ish and I find that I pick up words here and there that way.

That is the best way really. I'll maintain that you watch them in the same order.

Any particular reason why?
![]() 10/26/2013 at 21:04 |

No good reasons really.
Nausicaa was the first ever anime I watched. So I have a soft sport for it. That said, I've watched a ton of anime since (both in English and in native language). The story line of Nausicaa held up despite the translation. A real brilliant film.
Ponyo is a fun film and fits in the genera of Howl's Moving Castle
Kiki's is like The Cat Returns, but a but better (imo)
Castle in the Sky is it's own film, and amazing. You could watch it first, but I placed it here because it seems to have it's own story and doesn't tie in to the others as well.
Castle of Cagliostro and Lupin the III are very similar, and so I say save it for last.
Just my reasons mind you. So take it with a grain.

If I had photoshop skills, I would replace that bacon with a Ferrari.
